Preparation
- Bring the water to a full boil in a small saucepan.
- Add 2–3 black tea bags and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Pour in 1½ cups of whole milk and heat gently until steam and tiny bubbles form.
- Remove from heat just before boiling.
- Lift out the tea bags and stir in 1–2 teaspoons of sugar until fully dissolved.
Notes
For a bolder flavor, use 3 tea bags. Sweeten after removing tea bags for the best balance. If pairing with savory food, keep sweetness light.
