  • 2 cups sparkling soda or tonic water Provides effervescence.
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup or flavored syrups Adjust sweetness to taste; optional.
Garnishes
  • 1 bunch fresh herbs (like mint or basil) Enhances aroma and flavor.
  • 1 cup fresh fruit slices For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Choose a juice or puree that excites you—options include tangy lime or smooth cranberry.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine your chosen juice with sparkling soda or tonic water. Stir gently to mix, adjusting the proportions based on your taste preference.
  3. If you prefer a sweeter mocktail, add a splash of simple syrup and stir well to combine.
  4. Toss in fresh herbs, such as mint or basil, and lightly muddle them with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their fragrant oils.
  5. Pour the mocktail into glasses filled with ice and garnish with fresh fruit slices or additional herbs for an extra pop of color.

Notes

Use freshly squeezed juice for the best flavor. Chill all your ingredients beforehand. Avoid over-muddling the herbs.
