Preparation
- Begin by crushing the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and smashing them with a rolling pin. Set aside a small portion for garnishing.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream using an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
- In another bowl, blend the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
- Gently fold the crushed Oreos and vanilla extract into the cream cheese mixture until evenly distributed.
- Next, gently fold the whipped cream into the Oreo mixture using a spatula to create a light, airy mousse.
Chilling
- Spoon the mousse into serving cups or bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow it to set and meld.
Notes
For best results, use very cold heavy cream. Consider adding cocoa powder for enhanced chocolate flavor. Garnish with whipped cream and reserved Oreo crumbs.
