  • 8 oz linguine Any long noodle can be used
  • 1 lb ground beef Cook until fully browned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce For the signature sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For added aroma
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger, grated Add warmth to the dish
  • 2 green onions chopped For garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the linguine according to the package directions until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the sesame oil until it shimmers.
Cooking
  1. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until fully browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce and brown sugar until the sugar is mostly dissolved, then pour it over the beef.
  4. Stir well until the mixture is dark, glossy, and slightly syrupy.
  5. Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss until the noodles are evenly coated, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Sprinkle chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For best results, mix the soy sauce and brown sugar before adding it to the beef. Don't overcook the garlic to avoid bitterness. Serve hot with plenty of green onions for freshness.
