Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and mustard together until smooth and well combined.
- Place 3 slices of bread on your work surface and spread each with a thin layer of the cream cheese mixture, using about half of it.
- On one slice of bread, layer 2 slices of cheddar cheese, followed by 1 or 2 slices of ham. Top this with a few baby lettuce leaves.
- Cover with the second slice of bread, spreading side down, and place another slice of cheese and a layer of ham and lettuce on top. Finish with the final slice of bread.
- Gently press down on the assembled sandwich to secure the fillings. Repeat this process with the remaining bread slices and fillings.
- Cut each sandwich in half diagonally. Stick 6 toothpicks into each half, carefully cutting around them to keep the fillings in place.
- Transfer the mini sandwiches onto a serving tray and enjoy!
Notes
Assemble sandwiches just before serving to keep the bread from getting soggy. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
