Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted until fully liquid
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Helps create shiny, crackly top
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Whisk well with cocoa to prevent clumping
  • 1 cup cocoa powder Provides rich chocolate flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Gives the brownies lift
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Fold in for melty bites

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the 1 cup of butter until fully liquid, looking clear and golden.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and glossy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter-sugar-egg mixture, stirring until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until just distributed.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread to the edges.
  2. Bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  3. Let the brownies cool in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

For best results, watch the last 5 minutes of baking. Cool completely for clean slices, and ensure the corners are generously greased to prevent sticking.
