  • 12 rolls Hawaiian rolls Naturally sweet and soft.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Add more if you prefer a stronger flavor.
  • Butter For cooking.
  • Maple syrup or your favorite toppings For serving.

Preparation
  1. Cut all 12 Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and arrange them in a baking dish, cut-side up.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the rolls for even coverage. Let them soak for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Set a skillet over medium heat and melt butter until lightly sizzling.
  2. Cook the soaked rolls for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and set on the surface.
  3. Plate and serve immediately with maple syrup or desired toppings.

Notes

For best results, limit the soak time to about 15 minutes, use medium heat while cooking, and ensure to add fresh butter between batches. Flip gently to preserve the texture of the rolls.
