Ingredients

Tea Base
  • 4 cups Water
  • 4 bags Green tea bags or 4 tsp loose-leaf green tea
  • 1 inch piece Ginger, peeled and grated (optional) Adds a hint of spice
Sweetening and Flavoring
  • 1 Large Apple, any sweet variety, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp Honey, or to taste Adjust based on preferred sweetness
To Serve
  • Ice cubes For serving
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional) For an aromatic touch

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by bringing 4 cups of water to a near boil. Watch closely to avoid a rolling boil, which can make the tea bitter.
  2. Once the water is hot, remove it from heat and add the green tea bags and grated ginger. Let them steep for about 3 minutes.
  3. After steeping, strain the tea to remove the tea bags and any ginger pieces.
  4. While the tea is still warm, add the thinly sliced apple and let this infusion sit for about 30 minutes as the tea cools to room temperature.
  5. Stir in the honey while the tea is warm to ensure it dissolves easily.
  6. Transfer the tea to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1-2 hours until thoroughly cold.
Serving
  1. Pour the chilled tea into glasses filled with ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. You can adjust the sweetness with more honey if desired. Chill thoroughly before serving for the best refreshing experience. Consider adding a slice of apple or a sprig of mint to each glass for appeal.
