Preparation
- Peel and thinly slice the onion into rings or strips, aiming for uniform thickness.
- In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Toss the onion slices in the mixture until they are completely coated.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Spray the air fryer basket with a light coat of cooking spray or apply a small amount of oil.
- Place the coated onions in a single layer in the basket, working in batches if needed.
- Air fry the onions for 15–20 minutes, shaking or stirring halfway through to ensure even browning.
- Once golden brown and crispy, carefully remove the onions and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try using seasoned flour instead of plain all-purpose flour. Ensure that onion slices are uniform for even cooking and crispiness. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
