Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked macaroni Make sure it's cooled down slightly if freshly cooked.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Provides bold flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For that cheesy stretch.
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese Helps bind the ingredients together and keeps the filling creamy.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Coat the balls evenly for crisp texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adds flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Enhances savory notes.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to preference.
  • Oil spray For lightly coating the balls before air frying.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, cheddar, mozzarella, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and a few pinches of salt and pepper. Mix until well-coated.
  2. Scoop and form the mixture into 1-2 inch balls, pressing just enough to hold their shape.
  3. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs until fully covered to ensure even browning.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Place the balls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
  6. Lightly spray the tops with oil spray.
Cooking
  1. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, until the outsides are golden brown and crunchy. Keep an eye on them starting at minute 8.
  2. Let them sit for a minute or two before serving warm.

Notes

For best results, mix thoroughly to maintain cheese distribution, maintain consistent ball size for even cooking, and don’t overcrowd the basket. Lightly oil to avoid a greasy finish.
